Considering today is December 29, it's no surprise that folks are making their "Best of" picks. 'Tis the season for holiday celebrations and reflection.

Now stepping up to the plate is CAR Magazine, arguably one of the world's important automotive publications. It has provided a bit of a teaser video to announce its five finalists that are up for the Best Car in the World 2012.

I've noticed two things that strike me a bit "off" though:

1) Four of the five are British. A little...er...biased, eh fellas?

2) Only one vehicle is an all-new vehicle. Why are the others there? The Rapide has been out for ages, the Phantom is merely a refresh and the Mulsanne has been out for some time as well.

If the all-new Range Rover doesn't win, I'll be SHOCKED. It is undoubtedly the vehicle of the lot that will present the most groundbreaking changes for its respective brand -- though the Ferrari FF is a pretty unreal concept from the Maranello factory.

CAR magazine judges the best car in the world 2012: the new Range Rover takes on the giants of the luxury car scene - the Ferrari FF, Rolls Phantom, Bentley Mulsanne and Aston Martin Rapide. Watch our video review!
