One of the best things about the original Pagani, the Zonda, was its high-pitched sound. Even though its motor was an AMG-sourced unit, you wouldn't of known it. It was an Italian wet dream.

That means that the Huayra has some mighty big shoes to fill.

The Huayra doesn't have that high-pitched, Italian exotic sound. Instead, it has more of a truck-ish inspired note that seems to be reinforced with some turbo whistling. It's definitely a grungier sound but not what I was expecting.

With that said, we've seen some of the first video letting the Huayra flex its vocal chords.

What do you think? Is this what you were expecting? Is it for better or worse?


We have seen many pictures and videos of the Pagani Huayra, but we haven’t enjoyed the sound coming from this Italian hypercar. The following footage answers all our endless waiting.

The Pagani Huayra is powered by a Mercedes-AMG V12 fitted with dual turbochargers. This engine produces over 700 horsepower and 1.000 Nm of torque. Thanks to these figures the top speed is above 370km/h and the acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in three seconds...
