VW Eos beats BMW 328i cabrio in CR study
Influential magazine Consumer Reports has given the Volkswagen Eos the best overall score in its latest convertible comparo, putting it ahead of six other contenders ranging from $32,660 to $49,525 in price.

Coming a close second was BMW’s 328i cabrio, followed by the Saab 9-3 and Volvo C70, which along with the Eos were all rated as ‘Very Good’.

I don't care if it beat the BMW (who cares?), but I am happy that it won CR's study because that means the reliability is going up.

I love VW, the g=cars, company, everything, but with CR comparos, you have to take it with a grain of salt...

I am sure Audi competes well if an unrelated VW is better than the BMW version.

Someone offers you a VW Eos or BMW 328i free of cost, which would you take?

Well, unless you were trying to look like you had no taste at all and once lived in a trailer park, you would drive the VW wouldn't you?

How they can tell the future on a brand new car is something I can't comprehend! Although they can predict what the perceived quality is.I still wouldn't gamble with VW quality yet.

Good for VW.
I'd still have the Bimmer but whatever, good for VW.

Is the Eos considered a chick car? It IS the successor to the ultimate chick car, the Cabrio. It hardly matters -- since I'm not blonde, don't live in a sunny climate, nor female, I'm not in the market for an Eos.
If someone gave me one of these cars for free, I'd take the 328i then trade it for an E46 M3.

lol what a misleading title, and article, for one they also compared 7 cars 4 which arent in the same class of cars at all. What next a 7 series, A8, chrysler 300, Buick Lucerne, Mercury Sable, Toyota Avalon test because they are all fullsize???

did it ever occur to you that the type of person in the market for a "convertible" judges all cars based soley on this option?

"Daddy I want a convertible".

...ok

Well, that's it then..
There no greater Automotive authority than Consumer Reports (except maybe Better Homes and Gardens)..

Why does everyone insist on trying to crusade against Consumer Reports? Of course their opinions don't influence any of our automotive decisions. People who buy cars based only off of CR reports are not the same people that would visit this website.

Eos might be CR's pick - too bad the design is so feminine.

should have compared the 128 conv vs the VW? VW eos is a small car. Handles misreably & the brakes are horrible. I just tested the car on a race track vs the 128 conv. For the same size and money what is the point. Only thing pretty cool with the VW is the power sunroof when the top is up ....
