VW bringing back Golf cabriolet, EOS to be replaced by Passat cabrio
According to our friends over at CAR, Volkswagen is planning on bringing back the Golf convertible when it introduced the six-generation model. Volkswagen has realized that it was slacking on the previous Golf convertible with the first version remaining the same for 14 years without any major changes and the second-generation being discontinued in 2002.

Boss Martin Winterkorn has already confirmed that the Golf cabrio is on the company’s agenda, however a little planning and foundation has to be done before preparing the model for market launch. It will kind of go in line with current A3 convertible, which is also derived from hatchback version.

Volkswagen. Please make up your mind. It really isn't that hard because it isn't like either of those cars are going to be popular anyway.

Eos sales up 30% in 2008 and Eos outsells Beetle and GTI, maybe you should stick to BMW comments?

Percentages aren't figures of cars being sold. Eos sales could be up 99% and it doesn't mean that the car is popular.

Moving the EOS to a larger platform could be a really good thing, I was looking at buying one for my wife, we drove it and loved everything but the interior space. Our 1st question was why does it have a backseat at all, because neither of my kids would fit. It looked nice top up and down and drove nice but was just too cramped. More rear legroom to make it a true four seater would do wonders.
