Translation: Auto Motor und Sport declared the M3 the winner over the Porsche GT3 due to comfort, practicality, total costs and daily drivability. They favor the GT3 for performance advantage and that it is a much more facinating car - celebrating the thrill of driving.

The GT3 looks so balanced, almost no body roll whatsoever. I mean M3 is a good car, but comparing it to a GT3 is just a bit of an exaggeration. In the corners the M3's tires were screeching to hold traction, and also there is noticeable body roll in the M3. The suspension does not look to be made for racing. But M3 does have very good looks and probably a better real world choice, for the bumps of the road will probably be quite hard felt in the GT3s stiff suspension. But no doubt Porsches are the best German cars, and i would have called them the best in the world, if there were no ferraris.

Wow, the M3 should be flattered that they are comparing it to the GT3. You are talking a 600+ lb weight difference, 265 vs 305(at least) tires. The GT3 is the "CSL" of 911's, a no frills road legal racing vehicle. The performance outcome of these 2 vehicles competing against eachother is expected, unless you're crazy. The M3 would have trouble against a regular 911 with 2-200 lb cement blocks in the trunk(it it can fit).

One might expect the GT3 to do even better. But, this vid just how great the M3 really is when you factor in daily driveability (more comfortable ride), utiility (back seat, more cargo space), and price.

This doesn't mean the GT3 isn't just as outstanding, because it certainly is! It's a different beast altogether. What you get with the GT3 is in the details. Those details are what makes it SO great, but at a price (in price).

Porsches are THE pinnacle and epitome of what a true performance car IS for the way it BLENDS everything so beautifully.

I would argue that Ferraris do that equally as well if not better.

Here's an interesting scenario. Both the M3 and GT3 are cruising neck and neck on I-95 South. They both are doing about 75 MPH. When all of a sudden the Porsche slams on the gas and the M3 goes after it. Imagine the look on the Porsche owners face when the M3 passes him up to 120 MPH!!

M3 80-120 : 7.3s
GT3 80-120 : 8.2s

I would still take the GT3 though...why7...because this is America that's why!

No replacement for displacement, V6 vs V8.....

then imagine the look of the M3 driver's face when the Porsche passes him all the way to 200mph.

Bottom line, both cars are amazing but they are certainly different beasts.
