I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

I just read the article in Motortrend about this comparo. The G8 won and rightly so. It looks better, handles better, gets better mileage. Pontiac has a solid winner on their hands, and let's not forget, it's cheaper pricewise. Just what the sedan dad's are looking for, something with grunt that can also carry your golf clubs and get you some decent mileage. Sign me up.

technically it's thumbs up to holden for making a great car and then to vauxhall rebadging it, making a hit THEN pontiac rebadging that and making a great car.

The performance results are quite surprising. I had no idea that GM had hit a home-run with the G8. When this car compares favorably with the BMW 535i then I'd say GM is back in a big way. I know it's refinement is not at the level of the 5 series but mid-30s vs mid-50s for the BMW means this is one hell of a bargain.

Nicely said now people just need to commit and buy these things and get over the Pontiac nameplate, because this is a smokin deal

I agree. I think GM should kill Pontiac, consolidate the lineup and make it more focused.

The G8 styling is subtle, with only it's (ersatz BMW) grill to identify it as a pontiac. This car should have been the new Impala SS.

I understand that Pontiac is supposed to be the 'performance' division, but it is truthfully superfluous. The 'Chevrolet SS' name has as much performance credibility as 'Pontiac' does. Mostly all of GM's relevant racing heritage belongs to Chevy.

I love the G8 GT. It is an awesome car. There are a lot of nice sedans out there but I have to say that I like the G8 GT the best.

An even better comparison is the one in automobile mag, where they pit it against the 550i. It showed that the $33k G8 could go toe to toe with a $70k german beast of a sports sedan.
