I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

Video: 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 hits 205mph
Going through our RSS reader we hardly find the GMNext Blog updating anything. Today however they’ve probably made up for all that. Just earlier this morning we brought you the official power rating details on the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (638-hp and 604 lb-ft). However, there were no official 0-60 or top speed numbers given in the press release.

Thank to GMNext we now have a video of the Corvette ZR1 hitting a top speed of 205mph (330km/h) as Corvette Development Engineering team take it out for a spin on the test track in Papenburg, Germany.

Directional stability looks impressive and they certainly seem to have the suspension sorted out extreemly well, though of course this is a racetrack. But overall, mindblowing. 300 km/h was never this easy in a Ruf 993 Turbo!

The auto press calls the ZO6 a world class supercar. Then what is this?! :) Congrats to GM. Now let's see it tear apart some competitors.

The fact remains that GM actually makes a significant profit building all their vettes, from the base model right up to the ZR1.

Wow it topped out at 208 briefly. Makes you wonder what it could do with the instruments and the passenger.
