I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

Video: Porsche 911 GT2’s 7:32 run at the Nurburgring
As reports of the Nissan GT-R beating the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Carrera GT around the Nurburgring pop up, Porsche has decided to release an exciting video of the 911 GT2 7:32 second run around the popular German racetrack.

While this video has an awkward way of building up to the excitement, the last 1:30 of this video are the best showing the Porsche 911 GT2’s 7:32 second run around the Nurburgring.

The 911 GT2 is powered by a 3.6 liter boxter six that produces 530 horsepower with 505 lb-ft. of torque. Weighing in at 3,175 lbs the Porsche 911 GT2 has the ability to do 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds and 0-100 mph in 7.4. Top speed is limited to 204mph.

I really don't get it. How does the Nissan GT-R beat the Carrera GT having only 450HP vs 600+ on the Nurburging. I know power isn't everything but having almost a 200HP advantage helps and it's not like the Carrera isn't a super handling car. The GT-R must really be that good! I really am amazed!!

The nurburgring is a track where acceleration and top end play a great part. A Lotus Exige isn't any faster then a Porsche boxster or Audi S4 on the ring.

^^Problem is, this was a 911 GT2, and we don't know if the GT-R's are standard GT-R's with 450-480 HP, or the high-test versions that will come out with 500+. That will be the true test.

Good point.

The best thing is yet to come. Soon you'll see GT-R EVO being tested w/ GT2. It's a matter of how much seconds NISSAN wanted to beat it.
