Volkswagen Recalls 2009 CC

If this fault is due to a capacitor as the article says, then there is a very good chance that it was made in Asia somewhere. In unrelated news from two weeks ago, Sony has (again) been forced to recall 100,000 laptop batteries.

It's the responsibility of the end manufacturer to work with it's suppliers to make quality products. If you know anything about Toyota and Honda they do this to lengths end. Even if this product was made in Asia, that same company is probably working with other car makers too. This could have happened to any car maker but it's funny that since this happened to VW you have to get all defensive and blame someone else, typical supremacist attitude...

My new bimmer, only 2 weeks old already has electronic issues. TMS came on saying my tires are under inflated, tires checked out fine with a tire gauge. Next day, all other auxiliary lights in the dash went out. WTF? BMW is not recalling their vehicles for poor quality due to unthorough engineering, so I've only myself to blame for being a Badgewhore.

VWs have had defective cylinder head in the 2.0 TDI engine and VW hasn`t recalled them:

I guess that you were too young to remember, maybe not even born yet, but back in 1989, when Lexus was hit with a problem they set the standard for being proactive with recalls and dealing with the situation. People still talk about it today...

Becouse Lexus isn`t as prestigious brand as Mercedes or BMW . Lexus brand was lauched in Japan 2 or 3 years ago . Toyota Crown and Toyota Century are more prestigious cars in Japan than any Lexus .

We`re talking about VW's 2.0 TDI engine that they has been selling in Europe for several years . This is the same engine as in US Jetta TDI , although they recently added to it common rail system .
