The German carmaker will release its latest gasoline-electric hybrid variant of the Touareg in its BlueMotion range next year. However, before that happens, another variant of the attractive SUV will get VW’s BlueMotion emblem.

The most current Touareg TDI BlueMotion, which was just released in Europe, is equipped with the 255hp (168kW) V6 TDI turbodiesel powerplant, the same unit that is being used in the Touareg TDI clean diesel model that was released in the US recently. The BlueMotion model, however, comes with a 10% increase in fuel-efficiency due to several fuel-saving revisions in contrast to the already efficient standard version. VW claims that the latest Touareg TDI BlueMotion has a fuel consumption rating of 28mpg (9L/100km).
