Looks like the new Volvo S60 may have become more attractive to some buyers. The S60 T5 front-wheel drive version has just underwent a price cut of $450 bucks and is also up for grabs for $299/month if you want to lease. Head's up though, it's only until Feb. 28, 2011.

After you take into account the price cut, this means that the S60s base price is $31,670*. Keeping in mind that you get a 2.5-liter five-cylinder motor with 250 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque -- 295 pound-feet with the "over boost" function, that isn't so bad.

*This price includes an $875 Destination fee.

Also, you have to consider that the car comes with Volvo's Safe+Secure Coverage. This means that maintenance is free for the first five years of 60,000 miles.

Although Volvo is not know for producing the most exciting vehicles on the planet, a buyer looking for something unique, has solid build quality and is concerned about safety will probably be thrilled to hear about some more savings.

I don't know about you guys but I suddenly have a hankering for some Swedish meatballs...

Volvo's US division has dropped prices for the S60 T5 FWD model, which starts at $30,795, excluding an $875 destination fee. That’s $450 less than the previous base price. The updated offer is also accompanied by a special introductory lease rate plan of $299/month, available until February 28, 2011...
