in general i think its cheesy when car company's do this, i.e. pebble beach editions, neiman Marcus edition etc.

its even worse when consumers feel the need to spend more for nothing

Pebble Beach is dumb. Neiman Marcus generally makes sense. You are guaranteed a car first, and after seeing the wheels on the IS-F... totally awesome.

wow so I get deboosted, didnt even say anything negative.

Point being there are German special editions which offer nothing more than badging and exclusive color options. Same shit. Get over it.

It's essentially a Luxury Makers version of Limited Edition. Accord Limited Edition, Altima Limited Edition. Except they cannot call them Limited Editions because that name would make the others feel like they are plain and not luxury. It's all brand recognition and marketing. Would you rather have a Limited Edition Lexus RX350 or a Pebble Beach Edition.
