Information has arrived that the Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI will be available for sale in the US early next year with bottom tags of $42,800 or $43,490 inclusive of shipping and handling. This basic price is $3,500 higher than the V6 FSI, cash that will get you a little bit lower horsepower but will give you 150 lb.-ft. extra torque and about 4.5 extra mpg.
Choices consist of the Luxury Package for $2,700, Tech Package for $3,350, and Luxury Plus for $5,400. If you want to modify your Touareg, the rear locking differential costs $700, a trailer hits sells for $500, and you can get a smoother ride with the four-corner air suspension for $2,750. Prices are yet to be finalized though.
