Although the VW Passat has been relatively successful in the US, the carmaker is currently working on a New Midsize Sedan, which is codenamed NMS, as its successor.

The NMS’s final design has already been approved and prototypes of the sedan were already shown dealers this week in Wolfsburg. It will come with American requirements: space, total seat comfort, cup holders, Bluetooth connectivity and other electronic gadgets. However, although the car was entirely designed and engineered for American users, the car will still remain a Volkswagen.
