WTF:Toyota Corolla vs Honda Civic
We’ve heard that the Toyota Corolla Altis is topping the Honda Civic in sales in Thailand, but this is totally ridiculous… But seriously now; if the Toyota Corolla didn’t fall from the sky, how the heck did it end up “humping” this poor Honda Civic? If you’ve got any information please share it with us, we’re really curious about this one. The accident was shot in Thailand's frenetic capital, Bangkok.

Maybe Honda was trying to make off with some Toyota secrets?

it looks photoshoped... look at the honda's roof in the main photo... not a scratch... it's just lower. in the front shot... notice the headlights...they are in perfect condition!

It looked like from the pics that the Toyota was backing up and backing up pretty fast too. You can see the front end damage on the Civic and lower rear bumper damage on the Corolla. Just a guess.

This can happen to either car since both are shaped like a wedge.

This kind of accident happens a lot in city traffic. The Corolla in front...slammed on the brakes...nose dive- it butt raise a little. The speeding Civic is behind the Corolla...slammed on his brakes...nose dived and skidded under the Corolla. Resulting- the Corolla is on top of the Civic.

oh and BTW, the corolla and civic in SE asia are marketed as a midsize family sedan as the camry and accord are more like the USDM nissan maxima, with 3 engines available for the accord. theres a maxima based car there called the teana/cefiro.

Why are the side mirrors of both cars folded? Maybe if they had them open they would have seen each other.....

Amusing nevertheless :)

They are folded so that people can cram 5 lines into a 3 lane street. Standard practice in India, saves 5 to 10 inches off of the width of the car.

Serious.

This is no photoshoped. I'm in Thailand , This incident happened in the city of bangkok. There're 4 cars and a bus involved ..
The first car was Toyota Altis driven by an old lady the second one was Honda Civic also driven by a lady , the third one was a Chrysler Neon (the driver borrowed it from his friend), the forth one was an old white Toyota and the last one was a bus .
This happened when the Altis old lady getting ready to go home but for god knows what happened this lady slam on the padel while the gear was in "R" position.
All the cars behind this Altis were hit like a domino and was blocked by the big bus....
And that is what you see in the pictures!!!!!

Lexus ALWAYS understates their 0 - 60 times by at least .5 seconds. Here are the results of the 5 Top Luxury Cars in this test which was reported in the January Issue of Car and Driver. Please note these tests were all done on the same day at about the same time and at the same altitude. The results reflect the average of 3 runs and all cars are the 2007 vintage.

Mercedes S550 5.6, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.1 (Benz show 5.4 in their specs)
BMW 750iL 5.7, 0 - 60 quarter mile in 14.2
Jag XJ Super 6.0 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.5
Lexus LS460L 6.2 0 - 60 quarter mile 14.6
Audi A8 6.8 0 - 60 quarter mile 15.2

Note that Lexus, as usual, is more than the 5.4 the manufacturer CLAIMS to get by .8 seconds.

Also note the LS430 (prior model the LS460 replaced) was rated at 295 HP and was actually 278 when Lexus corrected their rating. And there were no refunds or apologies from the so-called "quality" car company. ABC - Always Be Careful what you buy from the (REPREHENSIBLE) Toyota/Lexus people.....
