What We Know About The 2010 Jaguar XJ
Sources say the 2010 Jaguar XJ (known in-house as X351) will use a modified version of the mostly aluminum architecture that made headlines for the XJ's 2004-model redesign. Wheelbase should stay at 119.4 inches, but overall length may be trimmed a bit, while width and height should go up somewhat. These changes would also apply to a long-wheelbase version, though we don't know yet whether that will continue. The restructured platform will be totally repaneled in a style much like that of the new XF . If anything, some sources believe the big sedan will be more radical, with high sides, a sloping low-profile "four-door coupe" roofline, and hulking wheels tightly enclosed by muscular fender bulges. Also predicted are XF-style visuals like a big square mesh-filled grille, round headlamps in amoeboid housings, and a stubby high-set tail. The result, judging by one computer-generated image we've seen, could be a cross between theMercedes-Benz CLS and Chrysler 300. Read Article

A VGT turbo I6 would be nice for the states...

Don't forget that Tata has an agreement with MDI. We could see one of those nifty air engines in the new Jag. Mind you that the vehicle is capable of running off of gasoline, and that it is essentially a two stroke engine without the emissions problems.

Think about this: a 3.0L I6 two stroke! Crazy power!

Jaguar is currently working on a 2 stroke/4 stroke switching engine that will give twice the power at half the displacement.

I love the direction Jaguar is going. With the new ownership they have no more excuses of having so much Ford bits in them. I love the XF, XK and hopefully the XJ is another hot product built by Jaguar.

I think their very under-rated in this luxury market and a great alternative to all the brands we discuss on this website. Jaguar has a high level of prestige and never are they over-rated. I rarely see them where I live because most of the consumers are into Mercedes, BMW and Audi. It makes Jaguar more rare and after sitting in the XF I think it may be next car in a few years. The XF-R may be replacing my LS460.

LOL -if you think TataCars is bad, wait until you hear from amazinBimmer! :-)

The current supercharged XF comes with a CATS suspension system. Is there any way I can order CATS with the normally aspirated V8?

If you've ever been to the prestigious parts of the world you'll probably never find a Lexus LS. It's all dominated by Jaguar's, Mercedes, and Audi's. Then there are the ultra luxury brands and the $200K+ exotics.

Your thesis is flawed Obiwan. Just because a thing sells the best doesn't make it the best. I give you Mac Vs Pc as an example.

The next XJ sounds fantastic, if it's anything near as good as the new XF and XK it will be one hell of a machine.

The XF is a lovely car. It's on my "short list" for a new car when my current lease expires in December. In addition to being gorgeous, it performs well and I can fit in it! (I'm built like Michael Phelps, only older and less fit, tall with a very long torso. Thus headroom is always an issue with me. In spite of the sleek roof, my head does not hit the ceiling in the front seat of the XF.)

This new XJ, if it looks like this CGI, will be very impressive indeed with that big new V8.

After driving the XF, and the new direction Jag is going, it will at least be promising.

The XF looks so good, I've had many people wondering how it is a 5 series/E class/A6/ GS competitor!

Jag is back!

You are an idiot... learn how to spell and stop being such a racist. The moderator needs to start blocking out these idiots with comments that waste our time (Michael Taylor, now TataCars and the rest of morons)
