Susan Sontag, in her essay On Photography, called cameras "fantasy machines whose use is addictive.

" Just like cars. Therefore, taking photos of cars should be exponentially more fantastic and addictive. This makes us wonder: what's the most photogenic car?

The premise of this question is that there's a difference between being beautiful and photogenic. We believe the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is one of the most beautiful cars in existence, but this is a fact not easy to prove merely in photos — especially press photos. In person, it's breathtaking, but this doesn't always translate to photography. Subtle, curvaceous bodywork is wonderful in the flesh, where you can appreciate it. The lens favors sharper angles, numerous levels, recessions.

Uh, that is the article, Invisible didn't post it. The Alfa is a stunning vehicle. As much as I like the R8, I will take the Alfa. A lot more rare as well. Beautifully Italian.

Yet another Audi propaganda feces smeared over the Internet.

Some chav paid by Audi said R8 is the most photogenic. Why? Because he says so? Because he's allowed to smear crap on Jalopnik?

It has a huge rear and a tiny subdued front. Like a bloke with a miniscule dick and an enormous ass.

Chevrolet Camaro murders R8 in terms of look any time any place.

But kids dream about it. As a kid, what I dreamed about is what was cool. Therefore it is as such. R8 rules. But braut,it's ok, you are allowed your opinion, you won't be denied that.

And you know what? I kept dreaming about such cars too when I was a little kid.

Then I had an opportunity to drive such things and I simply realized all this hype is not worth the price.

You can have not that much less fun in cars costing a fraction of supercar money. And you never display that much of conspicuous consumption in them.

I got used to dreaming about other things then, not necessary related to spending tons of money on thin air.

Almost anything Italian and British is photogenic...Lambos/Ferraris/Maseratis/Alfas even Fiats - I love the way the Grande Punto and the Linea Look and then British Cars such as Astons/Jags/Rolls/Bentleys and McLarens and Lotus are very classy in their own right !

There's some real beauties out there that make it tough to pick just one. So far there have been some good choices. What about the Ferari 599 GTB, Brabus SLR, and maybe the Drophead Rolls...
