What will be the hottest car in 2008?
Boy, has 2007 gone by fast!
2007 brought a lot of exciting products and it's been a great time to be a car buyer with so many great cars available.
And, the market has been soft, so you have been able to negotiate some great deals on what's out there.
Plus, there are so many great models on the horizon.
The Nissan GT-R, BMW M3, 1-Series, X6, Infiniti EX, Lexus IS-F, GM Hybrid Trucks, will all be in dealerships in 2008.
And if that's not exciting enough, all the clean German diesels will be hitting lots for the 08 Christmas season.
So tell us what cars/trucks are you most excited to see/drive/buy in 2008?
Feel free to include cars that are coming to the auto shows, rumored to surface or hitting dealerships in 2008.

M3.
A lot of people will be comparing it and judging it. A lot of articles will be written about it. Especially since the coupe, sedan and convertible will all be out at the same time.

It will probably be between the M3, GT-R and X6.
You also can't forget the Jaguar XF. That's going to be one hot seller...

The GT-R, why? Because it’s the first time coming officially to our shores, unlike the M3 it’s been here for long time.
As for the IS-F it will be an interesting comparison against the 3 Germen monsters, M3, S3, and C63. Simply 2008 will be an exciting year for car enthusiasts, so with all a happy new year. :-)

S4,
I listed and put number just for reference, you assume that I thought the IS-F and M3 is hotter than the R8.
The Nissan GT-R out perform the Audi R8 didn't, that what I thought. Run around the famous German track in 7:38s, and 0-60 in 3.3s or less.
Yeah..yeah...I know S4, the Audi R8 V10 is coming with 500 hp. So what, the ligher Nissan GT-R V-spec with 550+ hp is also it way to Spank the Audi R8 V10. And anyone who dare gets in it way.

Matthew already addressed one thing...
But one more: HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH POWER THE R8 V10 AND GT-R V SPEC WILL HAVE??? Nobody is even 100% sure that those cars EXIST yet! And something tells me that the R8 V10 will have a lot more than 500hp--look at the 580hp RS6!

My last 4 cars were BMW's, 3 of them M3's. They're great driver's cars, but I wouldn't mind getting into a quality Japanese ride. While I think it's true that for a long time the Japs couldn't touch the Germans in the performance aspect, the tables have been changing for some time now. It will be much harder for Europeans to compete with Japanese in the coming years.

The i10... Now that is one AWESOME ride... Just think about how many i10's you can get for one S-class... You can have 7 and get them in seven different colors (if they offer that many colors) and then change each day! Now that is going to attract your neighbors attention way better than any one car you can buy from any luxury carmaker!
:P
Seriously... I don't have any idea... Ask me again in a year and I'll have an answer... I'm looking forward to the M3 though!

@Matthew1 Stop being stupid dude, edmund.com already did an official tes on the GT-R 0-3.3s. And they usually get the lower number compare to other reviewer. Just wait until Car and Drive do their test it will go from 0-60 in 3.1s for sure.
S4, stop kissing other German fanboys azz, because everyone up here know how much you love Audi. There has been rumor floating around saying the V-Spec GT-R will have 550+ hp to compete with Lexus LF-A with 580+ hp.
Let's ask you a question smart guy, how do you know the NEW Nissan GT-R will NOT have 550+ hp or not? It a rumor idiot.
I know you are a sour right now because the NEW Nissan GT-R spank the Audi R8 like a VW. It also spank the 911 turbo, Viper and Z06 as well.

Of course they do, I've never denied this. The Audi R8 is my #1 dream car right now.
"There has been rumor floating around saying the V-Spec GT-R will have 550+ hp to compete with Lexus LF-A with 580+ hp."
So? What are you trying to do, sell me one? As if the 420hp in the R8 isn't enough, or even the 480hp in the GT-R! I think I could live with 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, thanks!
"Let's ask you a question smart guy, how do you know the NEW Nissan GT-R will NOT have 550+ hp or not? It a rumor idiot."
I never said it didn't. I didn't mention the GT-R's power. I was talking about the R8, "idiot."
"I know you are a sour right now because the NEW Nissan GT-R spank the Audi R8 like a VW. It also spank the 911 turbo, Viper and Z06 as well."
Why would I be sour? I want one. Not as much as I want a Turbo or R8... but it's more attainable, so it might be on my list.

Lexus, and posters like him, have nothing valuable to contribute to automotive news or technology. They just want to have their own unsubstantiated opions heard, and to slam anyone who opposes. Real auto enthusiasts appreciate that this is a great time to love cars...and there are a lot of great cars.
The supercars from Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, etc. have a lot to crow about, and rightly so. Most of us would get one if we could easily afford one. The Corvette is a technological achievement of price and performance that is nearly impossible to match, and I respect the people who love this car. Shame on anyone who slams this car simply because it's a Chevy. There are enthusiasts out there who love AWD instead of rear wheel drive...they are both great platforms that appeal to different drivers and conditions.
The GT-R looks very quick, and Lexus seems to think this car kicks everyone's ass. He needs to keep in mind that physics rules the universe of motion, and propoganda rules advertisement. There are true, physical limits to hp/weight ratio and performance, grip to the road surface, suspension and other performance parts. I will personally wait to judge the GT-R when proper comparisons and independent lap recordings are performed, because the smoke and mirrors effect can only last so long. I'm not saying this car isn't great, it just isn't proven. And it appears that a few people actually like the styling of this car.
It is way more fun to interact with OBJECTIVE postings. Hate responses and selfish rantings are so childish.

It seems everyone has forgotten about another brand lurking in the shadows who usually keeps everything very secret until the last minute.......Acura. The guys at Acura are steping everything up a notch and getting some hot cars ready for next year. The new TSX, TL(both with SH-AWD) should be coming in mid to later 2008 with supposedly a new RL coming in mid 2008 as well. Hopefully Acura gets it right this time around and gets rid of the front wheel drive.
I'd really like to see Acura meet it's true potential.
