Which Audi is 'Sold Out' that hasn't even made it to dealers yet?

Dear 001,

I thought your readers might like to know that the hot new Audi A8 V12 is already sold out and not even one has been delivered to us dealers yet!

Granted, only about 200 are coming to the USA but that is still a good sign that Audi is making major inroads in the luxury car market here in the USA.

It's a good time to be selling Audi's!

If 001 ever needs anything, you know who to call.

All the best this holiday,

Simone

Simone,

Here's a tip...give Glen Fagin a call at the auot Gallery and see if he can do some magic and get his hands on one for you! 1-800-371-8062

001

'Audi will never sell as many A8s as MB will sell S-Classes but that doesn't make the S-Class better.'

Correct you are. On the same note, just because Lexus shifts more units than the German three in the US, doesn't make them superior cars. Statistics are one-dimensional, cars are not. Bear that in mind many of you.

The Audi A8 is not a rebadged VW Phaeton. The VW does not have the aluminum space frame that the Audi does. The Phaeton W12 weighs 670 lbs. more than the Audi A8L W12. The Phaeton V8 weighs 795 lbs. more than the A8L. The W12 engine has 30 more horsepower in the Audi than in the VW and the Audi has a six speed transmission and the VW has a five speed.

Dean, I think you are pretty DUMB yourself, though, I am sure you could not afford to purchase the W12 in the first place. Whenever I read your posts, they are nothing but an amateur attempt to put everyone else down that doesn't agree with your love of BMW. Regardless of what you think, Audi is building some of the best cars in the world and much more to come. Audi is allowing only 200 to be sold here as it has PURPOSELY limited the number of A8 Units to the US unlike the others. Obviously, you know very little about the automotive industry, nor do you know anything about Audi strategy. The W12 is NOT a Phaeton in anyway. Just drive them and you can figure that out. Check out the other stats as well. I think you are quite pathetic with such childish comments. The A8L rules Europe outselling the 7-Series AND the S-Class in Novermber of 2004 and will outsell the 7-Series in total yearly sales in Europe and likely Asia. Just check Automotive News Europe if your little mind doesn't believe it. Respect others before making childish and ignorant comments. I am sure those that plunk down $126,000 or so for the A8L W12 are pretty smart or they wouldn't able to afford the distinction of owning such an Audi. Get real!

Hey Mr. Mo, get a clue too regarding the difference between an Audi A8L and VW Phaeton. Calling them twins is stretching it and shows a lack of brand knowlegde on your part. The A8L is a spaceframe aluminum body vs. a complete steal body. The W12 in the Audi is tuned differently giving more torque and horsepower with a complete dynamic difference. This is just a sampling of the many differences between the two, not to mention the Audi's interior blows away anything in its class. Quattro GmbH (Mr. Mo you probably have no clue who that is) has added specific touchs to the A8L W12 not found in vehilce in this class including various engine and chasis upgrades and features like a rear seat refrigerator, DVD rear entertainment system, etc. not found in the Phaeton or any of the others. So, get a clue, you sound pretty stupid as well.

Of course for the badge snobs, VW doesn't really have the same cache as The Lord of the Rings.

Yes, Mr. Mo, you have the right to your opinion, but just as long as understand that is what it is an opinion. I have driven and owned many cars in this class, and for me, the A8L is unsurpassable currently. And I am not the only one that agrees. The A8L has been winning every award on the planet, including being named to Automobile's Best List for 2005. Consumer Reports has recommended the A8L as best in class and the list goes on. You can say what you want, and that's cool, but don't call anyone Stupid or ignorant unless you want to be seen in the same light.
