I guess Prius became more efficient this year.

I guess the Prius is still the worlds most ugly car.

There are lots of cars worse than the Prius. Ssangyong and some GM subsidiaries have some pretty horrific models.

I've driven Prius and other Toyota hybrids and they don't get the mileage theyre supposed to get. I drove the highlander hybrid and it didn't get anything near what was posted. I don't know how toyota gets away with it. Even their mileage figures on their regular gasoline vehicles are overly optimistic.

Like I said the new 2008 Model Year ratings will have ratings that are more likely. Especially for hybrids.

You're young.

There have been plenty more frugal cars in the past.

In "my day", they didn't need a fancy hybrid system to attain 50mpg...

Diesel hybrids....this is the way to go. At least a BAS diesel hybrid system (it wouldn't cost too much, especially compared to a full hybrid)

I Europe there are sooooo many cars that attain 50mpg and better without any hybrid system.Almost avery brand has a model with this fuel consumption.

In that cartoon, shouldn't it being the V8-powered car saying "YUM... GAS!!!"

Gas tanks usually don't drink the cars. Just my experience.

I refuse to believe the Chevrolet/GMC cargo vans get better fuel economy than the Dodge Sprinter with the 5 cylinder diesel (which is actually a mercedes sprinter with a dodge grill). I think there needs to be a correction.

all you guys who claim the EPA ratings far overstate what you are able to get:
this only reflects on either 1) your leadfootedness, or 2) your NOT being that good a driver. (some 80% just KNOW they are "above average" drivers! lol!)

any IDIOT can have a lead foot. that does NOT make him a better driver. quicker bet'n stoplights, yes. better or smarter, NO!

i not only manage to better the EPA ratings for my corolla. i better the ratings for the Echo too! which has a smaller engine.

(not to brag, but i'm among the 20% WITHIN the 80% who is actually RIGHT.)
