Why Would This Japanese Tuner Beat the IS-F With An Ugly Stick?
The styling of the Lexus IS-F has pretty much been a controversial issue.  Either you like the boy racer look or simply hate it. With such a polarizing styling element at hand, it would seem that market would be ripe for for one of the large Japanese tuners to step in and make it right.

So when I read the headline that Japanese tuning house Wald International had done just that. I was ready for another conservative, yet tasteful rendition of the kits they are well known for.

Lo and behold was I ever wrong! I have to say that in this case Wald may have strayed so far from the true meaning and market for the IS-F that it actually takes away from the original car.

With beauty truly being in the eye of the beholder though, I have to ask you is this actually to be considered and improvement and would you ever consider decking your IS-F out with this kit?

Some people might say that it was already beaten with an ugly stick before they got ahold of it......

Ok, it wasn't that bad. ;)

While it isn't my cup of tea the stock IS-F is far better than this.

I will be one of the first up here to admit that the Lexus is ugly compare to the standard Lexus IS250/350. But I have a chance to went to a Lexus dealer here in Orange County, CA. I saw a red Lexus IS-F, it was Gorgeous.......Picture definitely does not do it any good.

If you don't belief me, go down to a Lexus dealer and check it out for yourself, and test drive it.

I agree 100%.

I was really, really disapointed when I first saw the IS-F in pictures. I finally saw one at a dealer this past weekend...was hoping to find a black one, but there was only a silver one there.

I'm still not a big fan of the front air dam. Although the ZzZzZz grill is cool. Also, the stacked exhaust looks intimidating in person. I kinda like it.

Now, where this car shines in design is the wheels. Wow - these are gorgeous! Never thought so from the pictures - at all! Once you seem them in person they look amazing.

What would make it perfect is if the replaced the front with the front simple front lip on the normal IS (comes with the sport package or something).

I think i like it. Lexus gave IS-F a bit RACERishh look so i think Wald International thought why not give it full and proper Racy look treatment. Nice for what it is. somthing like Nismo kits for Nissan.

But i think Lexus IS-F tuned by Five Axis is the best looking.

Is not their fault. Is just not much to work with considering how ugly the IS-F is in stock form.

As if the stock IS-F didn't look kind of ricey already this tuning job made it 100% rice.

What are you talking about?

M3 will never be as riced out as a JAPANESE IS-F. Get your country's right.

If you're saying the M3 is nothing but a suped up luxury sedan then what the heck is an IS-F then? an over priced rebadged Toyota IS-F? Even I wouldn't call the IS-F that.

You're just a flamewar starter.

Because it is ugly?

Not as ugly as the Nissan GTR, but pretty damn ugly.

I'll chime in and say that in the flesh, the IS-F actually has some good road presence, and jumps out a bit, in a good way; However, that kit looks like that tried to DTM-ize the car; it appeared to make an already busy looking aero setup to be pushed into looking cluttered. Hmm, I'm personally not a fan of this particular body kit, but to each his/her own!

It might be me but the IS-F is so sexy and hot! Best looking in class hands down. It has aggressiveness and luxury stamped all over it and it outperforms the C63 AMG and RS4 and is only marginally beat by the M3!

Look at the huge doors on that car.
If you cover the front and look at the rest of the car, do you see the 70's Dodge 4-door Sedan?
Definitely taxi-material (although an ugly taxi with a snout like an ant-eater!)
