This is the second time in succeeding months (in the other accident a Porsche driver died when testing 998 Cabriolet prototype) that an accident involving test vehicles took place on Friday the Thirteenth, a day that many superstitiously consider a day of bad luck.

This month the accident happened in Autobahn A31 in Germany between the exits Gescher and Legden in the direction of Emden involving a Wiesmann GT prototype. No one was killed on this one, unlike the one that happened last month involving a Porsche prototype where the driver was not as lucky. The report says that the Wiesmann was travelling on the left lane of the freeway when a red BMW E30 changed lanes from right to left but it did not see the Wiesmann on its left. When the Wiesmann saw the Bimmer, it tried to avoid a collision and veered further left into a guard rail which it tried to avoid, too. When the Wiesmann swung back to the right a truck was already there and it smashed into it.
