Will The 2009 Audi A4 Look Like This?
Sources at Audi have confirmed to AudiWorld that the next generation Audi A4 will make its worldwide debut in the fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Completely redesigned both inside and out, the B8 A4 will in many ways be similar to the recently introduced B8 A5 and S5 coupés.

With the new A4 just a little over four months away we wanted to give readers a good idea of what to expect inside and out. Matt Daniels has also prepared three exclusive renders of the 2009 A4 (sedan, Avant and S4) which represent our best guess at what the final product will look like.

Isn't that just the present A4 with a different set of tail lights?!

Almost- it's an A5 body, with four doors and the A4 window line.

Not even close to what it will look like.
For starters the overhang way too long.

I like the slightly more conservative styling except that I don't see any protective side strips to fend off door dings. Audi should state clealy when we will get the TDI versions and if the new Quattro system will retain the Torsen centre differential.

nobody has protective side strips anymore.
They are out of fashion.

Hopefully not.
Bonnet too long, boot too short, it looks like the top half is a different car to the bottom half. However if they just shifted the whole cabin to the left it would be fine, I think.
But the Avant looks great, as does the S4.

I'm sure it will resemble the elegant A5 more closely than this.

Will, ironically, this is the closest to an A5 you can get with a sedan. All it is, in each photoshop, is an A5 with four doors. It doesn't work as a sedan, though.

I actually don't think this is a bad photoshop, but I think it will look less like an A5 sedan and have more of its own identity.

Am I missing something? I didn't realize my taste in cars is this bad, but I love it. I think it looks incredible. I think it would be a vast improvement on the present day car, not that the present design is bad.

I looked at this and thought it was the first Audi in many years that actually captured my interest. I have thought Most of the Audi styling was like looking at a loaf of bread, but this actually has some style to it. I guess I hope all those that say it is not close to the real car are wrong.

May as well wear a Kia or Hyundai badge.

Rupert, do you really like door dings on your car? If nobody has protective side strips any more, then how come I have several current Mercedes brochures that show elegant protective side strips on all car photographs. Is Mercedes the only sane car company left on this planet? Is there a conspiracy by the auto industry to make sure that door dings will force customers to buy new vehicles more frequently?
bulldogz, Pep Boys is one of my favorite stores but there is no substitute for a proper factory designed and installed protective side strip. It is almost criminal to deliberately design a vehicle that is unable to withstand minimal abuse in a parking lot.

The A3, A4 and A8 all have body-color protective side strips. But nobody makes them rubber, like you want.

The photo used in this article gets it a bit messed up towards the rear. But the black S4 in the article looks great. Great job by the folks at Audiworld, professional looking work.

I hope this rendering is not it. Apart from the great FSI engines and quattro system one of the reasons I'm an Audiphile is the Bauhaus design philosophy that emphasizes straight edges and clean lines. If this wavy midsection trend (see A5/S5) keeps up I may be forced to go over to the 'Darkside'(BMW).

Okay... if you're already an Audi lover and don't like their swoopy new designs, what makes you say you'd go for BMW's swoopy design instead? Contradictory.

I'm sure the A4 will look like this but with much better proportions. The trunk in this photoshop is too short for the lengthy nose of the car.

Turn off the caps, please. It's painful for other readers, and gives the impression that you're shouting.

S4,I don't believe the BMW designs are 'swoopy' looking. Bangle's 'flame surfacing' has not affected the clean straight beltlines on the BMW cars. I don't dislike the A5 I just wish that the final product was closer to the Nuvolari concept which IMO was much more 'Bauhaus' inspired.
