Will This New Porsche Rain On The Aston’s Parade?
Prototypes of Porsche’s 4-door, 4-seater, the Panamera have been spotted for quite some time. These latest shots capture a couple of Panamera test cars in the US. One of them sports the usual metal “bridge” on the rear, used to disguise the movable rear spoiler. The rear of the other car is disguised only with a pattern of tape that makes it appear the rear window extends far down into the trunk area. On three of the photos the spoiler is in a raised position, showing it clearly.

One can also notice that one car has quad exhausts, the other only dual exhaust pipes, indicating that there will probably be two different engines offered.

As a 911 driver, I really miss the days when Porsche's advertising said "We make the best sportscars because that is all we do."

Yep, it is still hideous. NO, it will not rain on the stunning Astpn's Parade. Porsche, just go back to making the best sports cars.

"Will This New Porsche Rain On The Aston’s Parade?"

Has there been any information released in terms of the Panameras pricing? I doesn't look (with at least what can been see) like a quarter of a million dollar car. I am not so sure they will be direct competitors. I may be wrong, but for my part, simply because I am an asthete, I would choose the Rapide over this. And yes, I know there is camo on it, but I can tell from the proportions that I would prefer the Rapide.

Unlike Lexus, Porsche is not creating any PR hype.
They should teach that to lexus.

It was MB that pioneered the whole 4 door coupe class.
CLS is just gorgous!

it was actually mazda that pioneered the 4 door coupe class by introducing the 3 door coupe, rx8.

Porsche should stick to making sports cars and not this limo like car. Some styles just don't look good in four door.

Hwany...how is your comment relevant to anything in this post. shows how a "badge" can really boil peoples blood.

now back on task to the Porsche...they need to burn this design. why does everyone think they need a 4-door coupe design, when truly its a 4-door with a low roof-line.

MB made best perfection, and only thing close enough would eb the maserati.

Porsche should get back to business and hop up the Cayman. It has the makings of a great performer but is held back for brand positioning reasons as if Roger Smith is in charge of strategy.

... Aesthetically - NO!

The more I see of this vehicle, the more unsightly it becomes.

Am I mistaken, or does it look like the VW-Group simply resurrected the VW Concept D study (precursor to the Phaeton), and Porsche'd it up a bit?

Hmmm... not digging that C-pillar area. It looks too thick and heavy handed in this design. And that silly pop-up spoiler, I know it has a useful function, but if the AM Rapide stays true to its concept form, it will look way better than this.

There's no way. This has a hideous back end. It's disgusting. There is no way it can even come close to raining on Aston's parade. I hope it looks better w/o disguise but I doubt it... they need to toatally redo the rear.

Gonna wait to make remarks until the camo is off. True that Porsche is expanding from just sports cars, but Porsche has to find ways to survive and is looking to the future.

I love my 997S and I know Porsche will continue making the 911 better!

somtimes this site is sickening, people immediately judge camouflaged cars. porsche makes the world standard in terms of sportts cars. they won't f**k this up. when it's reviewed, i bet it will be considered a serious competitor

Everyone is commenting about the 911 porsche. What do you think has been the driving force behind all of Porsche's cars. This is a 911 four door sports car. What could be better. You can have 4-5 people in the car, cargo in the trunk, and still blow 90% of the cars off the road. I used to have a 911 turbo but a coupe became non-practical, so I am highly anticipating this car so I can go back to a Porsche and get rid of my M5.
