Will you be nuts for the Porsche 911 in Macadamia?
001 was chillin' in the OC today where he caught these shots of the 2008 Porsche 911 in the new Macadamia color.

Is it worthy or is Porsche nuts for putting this on an icon?

In my opinions currently Porsche is the King in the performance arena. But can't they come up with cooler and more beautiful design like Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Lambo?

Just imagine an Aston Martin handle like the Porsche on the track or the street.

Interesting color...

Maybe the MS Zune started a trend with the brown thing?

When I was still working, I went for daily noon-hour walks that took me past an exotic food store where I bought a small bag of macadamias to munch on while walking -- so, if you're gonna have a weird color, it might as well be macadamia.

The weirdest Posche color I am aware of was on a Porsche owned by the flamboant adventurous wife of a wealthy businessman -- it was a magenta/purple combination and I can't remember which color was the interior. When it was traded in, the dealer had trouble selling it because of who owned it previously.

If I were to buy a 911 new it would be guards red. Classic color that holds its value really well.

I think a sports car should always be in the racing colors of the country the particular brand represents.

I could see that. Certainly those colors work well for Porsche, Ferrari and Corvette.

"So if we had it in the brown, would you take it in the Brown?"

There was a period some 30 years or so ago when brown Rolls-Royces were popular among the establishment. Primary colors were seen as colors of the nouveau riche.

Brown was a very prestigous color in the 1980's. All the prestige makes (RR, MB, BMW, Cadillac at the time) had really rich-looking brown metallic finishes - usually paired with saddle tan leather interiors. I think its time to re-introduce it.

There was a funny line in the movie 'Caddyshack' where Judge Snells shouts derisively at the clubhouse manager...'Higgens, there is a brown audi parked in my parking space, call a tow truck at once" and then some dottering old guy in a towel jumps off the massage table to go move his car. It was pretty funny

Actually the exterior color is okay. IMO the tan that Porsche uses on the interior is too bright. I always thought it should be more subtle.

Yes, it's almost yellow. Kind of reminds me of Chinese fortune cookies.

No, give me black with body-colored rims, Cobalt Blue or one of their various (attractive) shades of grey.

I was wondering with the all-red taillamps looked like on the 911; I don't like them. They look better on the Boxster/Cayman.

I'm getting a black car next time because it's easy to match the paint for touch-ups. The only problem with black is that every spec of dust shows up on it and it needs frequent washing to keep its good looks. My current car is a dark metallic grey with black leather inteior.
