World’s most expensive car wax - cleans your car and bank account
If you thought that $99 wax you bought from PepBoys was expensive, you probably haven’t heard of Swizöl from Switzerland. Swizöl, who’s been creating carnauba wax since the 1930’s and now provides packages for automakers such as Rolls-Royce and Spyker.

Their new Swissvax is still blended and poured by hand for a very limited number of collectors and enthusiast each year. The top of the line wax comes packaged with a certificate of authenticity and a hand-engraved plaque bearing a serial number along with the...

Well, I am afraid I will have to disagree this is not the most expensive wax in the world- this Swizol is custom blended. Zymöl has a similar set in which you can create your own bespoke "Solaris Glaze" for $30,000.00

Yeah, I remember that the top of the line Zymol was crazy expensive, but it did come with free refils for life.

That is true that the above one is refillable for life.

I once repainted an old beater I bought at the city auction with $20 worth of polyurethane paint by using a roller in the shade. After it dried it, was so smooth and shiny that it kept itself clean just by parking it outdoors in the rain. A warning though, do not touch it or roll over it as it is drying or you will end up with a nasty flaw as the paint gets tacky very quickly.

As for ultra-expensive wax, there will always be people who go overboard with the belief that you get what you pay for -- marketers will prey on these people with overpriced product in fancy packaging.

I live in Canada and earn points every time I fill up with my Esso speed pass. I use these points for Esso's touchless car wash throughout the year. A liquid "clearcoat sealer" is applied in the automatic multi-stage car wash process and my car looks shiny most of the time without any work on my part.

Are you serious!? I guess if I was shameless rich, I would be stupid enough to buy it.

guarantee I could get the same results or better in less time with a $20 bottle of Zaino. But if you're rich and dumb, hey what not?

I use the $12 Zymol anyone can get from Target. That stuff is great, except it dusts something awful. Still, after the application, wipe your car with a damp towel and it's pure beauty.
Even if I was rich, I would not spend $30K on wax. That's just crazy.

I wonder if this stuff will get rid of swirls on my navy blue car?

BMW995,
Wax won't remove swirl marks, only help mask them.

BTW I use Swissvax products on my car, you can certainly notice the extra gloss and depth to the shine as opposed to cheaper rivals. I wouldn't buy this stuff unless I was loaded, but believe me the difference is noticeable.

This is because your 'cheaper' waxes contain very little ACTUAL Carnauba wax, about 5-20% depending on the brand. Swissvax and the like start from around 30% up, my 'Mystery' wax has 60% Carnauba. So you are paying for the quality and purity of the ingredients.

The downside to higher Carnauba content is durability, however, this is where the cheaper, synthetic waxes have an advantage. This is fine though, because a Swissvax tub lasts a long time, so you can re-apply every few months or so, or less.

I suppose this is the answer to people who pay $8,000 for a pair of 10-foot "Pear" brand speaker cables. James Randi, debunker, has a $1M check for anyone who can tell the difference in sound between Pear cables, and the much less expensive but still over-priced Monster Cable. I wonder if he'll extend his offer to this product as well?

That's funny; as soon as I read this, I thought about those Pear cables too! I'll bet $.10/foot zipcord from Home Depot works just as well!

Stick with the best, I only use Meguiar's products. Get yourself a bottle of #80 for light swirl duty, #83 for heavier stuff, and a bottle of #26 NXT Gen Tech Wax synthetic for that top coat. I have made my car cleaner than a new M3 in the showroom.

Wheelan, you are obviously a regular viewer of Car Crazy -- I won't buy any product unless the container fully discloses what's in it along with the proportions of the various ingredients used. There are too many products that use chemicals whose properties have been known for decades, if not centuries, and slick marketing guys package them and hype up their benefits in such a way that consumers end up thinking the product is greater than life itself.

There is nothing wrong with Meguiar's products at all, however in terms of finish, gloss and that 'wet' look, Swissvax takes it up three or four notches.

Why would anyone spend all that time waxing when they could use a sealer? Wax only lasts a week! And for all that cash! Not me.

Waxes and sealers have vastly different finishes. Wax adds depth and a wet gloss where as a sealer has a more mirror-like finish. Most detailers use a combination of both, a sealer first then a wax. This provides durability and protection while offering the finish of a wax.

A good wax can last a few months. Cheap waxes last a week.

The process I go through gets done twice a year Spring and Fall. I use Quick Detailer inbetween for dry runs and Eagle One Wax Dry when the car is washed. Those coupled with a California Duster help to keep the finish nice and glossy, clean, and smooth for months. I may throw a top coat on inbetween if I feel the need.

But I do professional detailing on the side using my G100 DA polisher. Depending on the paints shape the products are all made differently.

For a sealer I use the Simoniz System 5. I was able to get a huge stockpile of it when I worked at Acura. They actually sold this to people for $500 to put on their car. Teflon protection and I love it!
