XF? new XJ will reclaim Jags Name
Jaguar seems to be going in the right direction with the design of the new XJ. The previous XJ kept its face with subtle changes from 1995-2007, and This model looks modern and still as sexy as the previous XJ. I cant wait to see jaguar make a rebirth and once again be a luxury car that people want to drive and be proud to have in their garage. Read Article

Don't worry that is not what it will look like.

The rendering actually looks nice. The rear end looks like an IS, and if the new XF looked anything like this I would consider it.

Look very similar to the Lexus GS and the back of the Lexus IS. But the only different is that both the GS and IS good look very good unlike this ugly Jaguar.

Actually, if you disregard the nose and the crease at the rear flank of the car, it looks VERY similar to the MKII Lexus IS.

I thought this was a concept, not a rendering. In any case, it's not good, and it's not what the new XJ will look like. It will probably look like a bigger, more expensive XF (which it is).

Although, I'm worried about the XF stealing even more sales from Jag's flagship. The two sedans will be within $6,000 of each other, and the XF only loses three inches in length to the XJ. It also looks better and has much more technology, which more and more luxury buyers need. The XJ needs to be redesigned to remain relevant.

actually the xf, and xj, are nothing in common. so its not just a more expensive version of the xf. the xf is still on the s types platform.

ENGINES. My key point were the engine choices. XF and XJ have the same engine options. And the XF is only three inches shorter.

Oh, you were replying to my first paragraph. I know the current XJ and XF have nothing in common, other than the engines. But I was saying how the next-gen XJ will probably look very similar to the XF.

I think its a good try, but the headlights and grille need to be modified. If this car is to compete with the sales of competitors like BMW and MB, Jaguar has to make sure their new lineup of vehicles are flaw-less.

Does the exterior really have to be the key issue in competing with BMW or MB, I think its the creature comforts that jaguar is well known for. Its level of class. Thats what attracts Jag buyers, The XJ's class level out exceeds most BMW's, I believe Jag is more of a refined Company not really looking for racing heritage but Finesse. What they should do is make the jump to V10 and v12 engines.
