iPod, And Now The iPhone: What Would An iCar Be Like?
It seems the new designation for cool is the "i" at the beginning of any moniker. At least that's what some people would like us to think. In BMW's case, I suggest they go back to the drawing board with their iDrive...but I digress.

So I awoke the other morning reading and watching news reports about the new iPhone, Apple's latest high-tech gizmo. Where will the iMania stop? I know I'm going out on a limb here, but I'd like to see an iCar. Below is my wish list.

1) Find a progressive partner: I think it would be a natural for Apple to partner with Tesla Motors, the Bay Area-based carmaker that has brought us the sexy little electric roadster. I think, for our iCar, to be a fitting high-tech mobile showcase, it's almost mandatory that it be electric. A Hydrogen Fuel-Cell powertrain with a Lithium Ion pack.

The problem with Tesla and others that promise miracle cars is that they are not cars that people actually buy. The Tesla has promised sweet numbers, but it is a Lotus Elise, a car that already gets high milage and high performance because it's literally a tin can. It will be really hard to continue to deliver miracle cars that meet all safety standards and feature quality interiors and that are large enough to be considered a compact.

it would probably be white, and the screen would scratch.

When i picture the iCar, i think a small hatchback like the Nissan Cube with LED taillights and headlights that appear white when not in use.

Whats next?
iCoupe?
iRoadster?
iSedan?
iSport?
iJeep?

an iCar would be a car that would have no spy shots, or concept images and nobody would have any information about until the production version is released. This is because apple would try to keep it under wraps by handing out lawsuits and threaten anyone about revealing "trade secrets" if any information was released beforehand.
