Carmakers Honda and Toyota are both coming out with their own particular versions of the compact sports car: the CR-Z hybrid and Toyota-Subaru sports coupe, correspondingly. Meanwhile, Nissan won’t let this happen without doing something about it.

So, it’s also coming out with its own model, a convertible with styling based on 2006 concept car Urge. The car will be powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder gasoline turbocharged unit that provides 200hp (147kW). This is enough power to cause it to sprint from standstill to 60mph in about 6 seconds and attain a maximum speed of 140mph. The development of the car has not been confirmed by Nissan, although there are hints coming from insiders that the current financial climate has delayed the launching of the car. It is estimated to hit the market as a 2012 model by the latter part of 2011.
