The most fuel-economical mid-sized sedan of America is also considered the most patented car in automotive history. We are talking here about the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. In the area of quality and patent significance, the Patent Board says that Ford outperformed all other carmakers, placing Ford at the very top of its Top 10 Innovators in Automotive and Transportation Scorecard in the last quarter of last year. Included in the Fusion-specific patents are powertrain system, instrument cluster with SmartGauge with EcoGuide, Blind Spot Information System, and the fuel-filler system that does not require a cap. The technologies that Ford is utilizing aim at remaking its lineup with eco-friendly, modern products that customers desire. Ford focuses on high-quality patents that will provide the most innovative potential for the carmaker. The design crew of the Fusion has aimed high and they have successfully delivered what they aimed for.
