After the Golf Plus hatch was initially introduced last December in Bologna and which is currently offered for order, the carmaker followed it up with a version of the VW Golf Plus to its LPG range. The Golf can run on both LPG and regular gasoline contained in two different fuel tanks helping the car reach a range of more than 1,100 kilometers.

The Golf hatch and Golf Plus are the first models marketed by VW that come with a factory-fitted LPG system. The Golf Plus reduces emission by 10 percent when running on LPG. It is powered by a 97hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder powerplant that consumes 7.5 liters of gasoline every 100km or 9.8 liters of LPG per 100km. With the current prices of fuel in Germany, the car can save about 6.10 Euros for every 100km even though it burns more LPG than gasoline, and Germany charges lower tax for LPG than gasoline.
