The retirement of former product chief of General Motors, Bob Lutz, may not come at the end of the year as he had intended. Lutz, who is currently GM’s head of marketing and communications, announced his retirement last February after GM’s finances spiraled out of control and required the intervention of the government.

Now sources close to Lutz say that he is set to reverse his decision and is hoping to continue his current role and at the same time, have a hand in future product design. A few days ago, a US bankruptcy judge approved the sale of a new GM to the US treasury. Expect a press conference any day now that will outline GM’s plans.
