After making a great impact and attracting lots of sympathy with the new 500 model, Fiat decided to develop an Abarth version for the new 500 convertible, a model which would directly compete the Mini Cooper cabrio.

Fiat is still not very opened for detailing about the new model, but some rumours say that the Abarth 500 will feature roll-back canvas roofs to help increase its rigidity but still keep a low weight and two engines, at option, a a 1.4 T-Jet with 138 hp or an Esseesse model with 162 hp.
