In these difficult days, profit — no matter how low — is being applauded. Lamborghini’s profits may have plunged to €5.4 million in the first half of 2009 from €35.2 million in the same period last year. That’s still an excellent feat considering that many car manufacturers reported losses all around.

Turnover was €162.8 million, down 43.3%, the direct result of a 37% drop in car sales from 1,309 cars in the first half of 2008 to 825 cars in the first half of 2009. It appears that the markets showing the sharpest decline were the economies worst hit by the worldwide recession.
