As General Motors Co. begins production of the all-new, 2011 Buick Regal sedan in Oshawa, Ontario, 600 assembly jobs will be restored. The Regal, which is based on the 2009 Opel Insignia, joins the Chevrolet Impala sedan and Chevrolet Camaro in Oshawa.

These three vehicles are on separate GM platforms. Previously, GM had announced that the range-topping CLX version of the Regal will be built in Russelsheim, Germany, in the second quarter of 2010 before shifting to a North American factory. Since June, Oshawa has been running on overtime to cope with the demand for the Camaro.
