Alright Ferris fans, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has just come up and it may be the time to jump on it.

Quite possibly the only COOL Ferrari replica was the car featured in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," a hugely memorable 80s film starring Matthew Broderick. The John Hughes classic was a cult favorite that dealt with self-discovery and playing hookie.

In the slightly modified words of Ferris himself:

"If you have the means, I highly suggest screening a copy..."

But probably an even bigger star than Broderick was the film's 1961 "Ferrari" 250GT California Spyder. The California is often lauded as one of the most attractive vehicles of all time and boasting a market value of anywhere from approximately $7 - 12 million smackers -- depending on the car's story and racing history.

According to the NYT, the replica is based off of a MG, which does not have the same pedigree of a prancing horse...

The New York Times reports:


Fans of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” who couldn’t talk themselves into spending $2.3 million for Cameron Frye’s house (in a down market, no less) now have a second chance to blow excessive amounts of cash on film memorabilia.

The high-priced item in question: the 1961 Ferrari 250GT California Spyder that Ferris, girlfriend Sloane and dyspeptic pal Cameron take for a joyride in John Hughes’s 1986 teen classic. The car will auctioned by Bonhams in London on April 19 and is expected to fetch from $45,000 to $60,000...
