Subaru is recalling the 2010 Legacy and Outback models because of the risk of damaged circuitry related to a certain grease used on the steering roll connector.

According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the grease used can cause the flat cables of the roll connectors to crack. This could cause damage to the surrounding electrical circuits. When the circuitry is damaged, it may cause the airbag warning light to illuminate and lead to the loss of steering-wheel-mounted controls, such as the cruise control, radio controls, paddle shifters, and the horn.
