Toyota launched the Auris Hybrid in Europe and hopes that the new car will help them overtake Fiat as Europe’s low-CO2 champion. Toyota wants to become Europe’s greenest automaker, said Toyota Motor Europe environmental affair director at a press event.

The Japanese manufacturer already started making the new hybrid compact car at the Burnaston factory on Monday while the deliveries will commence in July. Regarding the sales, Toyota aims to sell 14,000 Auris hybrids this year and more than 30,000 in 2011.
