Honda tried to do something that is unthinkable. Build a hybrid car that has sporty feel AND a manual transmission.

Problem is that the car achieves less than stellar mileage and it is slow as molasses, by contemporary standards.

Now, this is where Hyundai steps in. Undergoing development is its Veloster coupe, which has been taking up a lot of spotlight recently with new spy photographs. Now we're bringing you video of the car running around with a friend, the Volkswagen Scirocco -- you know, the cool VW we don't get.

I guess Hyundai is doing some benchmarking and is trying its best to produce a vehicle with a superb driving experience. Oh yeah, and Hyundai has said the car will be able to achieve over 40 MPG without the use of a hybrid powertrain.

With less than stellar reviews seen thus far, for the 2011 CR-Z, I think Honda better get a fire under its bum.
