To say one particular car is the perfect sports car is a pretty tough endeavor, especially when there are so many variables in a car that are subjective. For example, some drivers like their vehicles tuned with ultra-sharp throttle response, some prefer ultra-heavy steering, while many prefer just the opposite.
But for one auto writer, he thinks that the 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder is the new "perfect" sports car.
Having recently piloted a 2011 Boxster Spyder, 00R must say that he feels it is quite good. But to say perfect? That's a very bold claim.
With that said, however, we want to know, does the Porsche Boxster Spyder have what it takes to be the PERFECT sports car?
When I first drove a Lotus Elise sometime around 1998, I thought it was the be-all, end-all perfect sports car. Of all time. A couple years before that, I thought it was an air-cooled 911. A year later I thought it was the 911 GT3 at the start of the water-cooled era. Years before that I thought it was a 1955 Porsche Speedster that I drove in Martin Swig's California Mille. A 1966 Dino 206 S that I lapped in at the Imola Grand Prix circuit would have had received the title, but I denied it on the technicality that I was only a passenger. (I could feel that it was perfect, though). Now, I think the Boxster Spyder is the perfect sports car...
