Now that we're coming into the year end here, it looks like auto sales for 2010 may finish above the 12 million mark. October was the second consecutive month that annualized sales were above 12 million. This has automaker execs excited since this is a sign that things could be getting better.
But could it be a fluke?
More importantly, The Truth About Cars compiled a nice year-to-date sales record of a bunch of popular vehicles and the results are pretty telling. From a year-over-year perspective, it's clear that certain cars have made huge strides saleswise. Check out the movers and shakers:
1) Ford Taurus = +75.2%
2) Chevrolet Equinox = +75.1%
3) Hyundai Sonata = +64.4%
4) Subaru Legacy/Outback = +64.2%
5) Chevrolet Camaro = +51.4%
**More importantly, take note that trucks are still selling stronger than ever
Trucks are staying strong, the mid-sized sedan market is getting more competitive, large sedans are enjoying a comeback, and compact crossovers are growing like gangbusters. But what else do you see in these numbers?
