Toyota debuted today the new RAV4 EV at the 2010 LA Auto Show, a new car developed with Tesla which promises to offer a range of 100 miles in actual road driving patterns. As you may know already, Tesla is responsible for supplying the battery, as well as other related parts, while Toyota was responsible for development and manufacturing leadership and the seamless integration of the powertrain.

The demonstration vehicle built by Toyota weighs approximately 220 pounds more than the current RAV4 V6, but according to the Japanese manufacturer, the electric car can accelerato from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) nearly as quickly.
