Since the creation of hybrid vehicles, there has been a bitter debate raging on in the automotive community. Enthusiasts generally speaking hate them and the environmentally-concerned buyers adore them. And why not? Most achieve stellar MPG figures and that crowd of buyers aren't looking to buy a Porsche anyway.

But, wait a second. What does Porsche have to do with this anyway as you can't get good gas mileage anyhow?

Wrong!

A lot of people tend to forget, it depends on how you drive the car rather than what is under the hood a lot of the time. For example, if you drive a Toyota Prius at 100 mph, like Al Gore's son, you probably won't achieve a lofty MPG figure.

Conversely, if you manage to drive like Agent 001 in his Porsche 911 -- see the cover shot below -- you too can see numbers nearing 40 MPG.

With that said, what's more important: MORE alternative fuel vehicles with better MPG or training drivers how to drive properly in order to CONSERVE fuel in their current daily drivers?
