Koenigsegg continues its pursuit with the long-lived CCX, though this time it is known as the Agera R. Essentially, that means what you should expect at this point; more power.
Using a forced-induction 5.0-liter V8 that makes a whopping 1,115 horsepower, you have to look at the Agera R and wonder "Who the hell in their right mind would equip it with a Thule Lightning Roof Box?" Then you have to remember there are people in the world like skier Jon Olsson who have taken numerous supercars and coverted them for driving on the slopes.
Gotta love it.
Of course if you're investing over $1.5 million buckaroos into a Koenigsegg you're probably concerned with the pissing contest that follows any car with over 1,000 horsepower. Koenigsegg has said that it has a "theoretical top speed" of 273 mph but is governed to a limited 233 mph. According to Edmunds, the company said the speed governor "can be unlocked for shorter periods of time, if all necessary conditions are met, such as road condition, tire wear, service level of car."
