2010 was not the most exciting year for Honda. In fact, 2011 isn't looking much better.
In 2010 we saw Honda roll out vehicles like the Accord Crosstour and CR-Z, which although have been relatively functional, aren't the most successful in their respective class. Two issues with both vehicles: the Crosstour is pretty expensive compared to other crossovers/whatchamacallits and the CR-Z's -- albeit a fun car -- mpg figures could be stronger for a hybrid.
Now looking into 2011 we see that the new Honda Civic has been receiving demerits from the general consensus. That's because the "all-new" Civic is a bit...underwhelming.
With that said, take a look at Honda's latest city car offering for emerging markets. If there is one place I would expect Honda to give its competitors a run for their money, it would be with the city car. Now that they have one, do you think their latest offering runs with its rivals?
Honda has launched this new budget city car in emerging markets as a rival for the Hyundai i10 and Suzuki Alto.
The five-door hatchback, called Brio, was first seen as a concept at the Delhi motor show in January 2010 and was shown in final production form at the Thailand show last November. Honda has now confirmed it will be equipped with an 89bhp 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine sourced from the base Jazz that can be mated to either a five-speed manual or CVT transmission...
