Well, even if General Motors' 2011 Chevrolet Volt doesn't win your vote in the green car race, they do want to make something clear to you, it is fun. At least that's the only other reason why I can see them posting a video on a blog of the car going around Laguna Seca, which is home to proper sports cars.
It almost seems sacrilegious but some GM bloggers did it anyhow.
One thing I can testify to is that compared to the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid, the Volt does feel MUCH more capable upon acceleration and going around turns.

So it’s not a Corvette or a Camaro, but it is a Chevy. And with this comes certain rights of passage, and one in particular just confirmed what many of us have wondered about our little EV rocket (that’s right). The 111 kW Volt, like its 400+ hp brethren, is completely at home barreling down a race track – in this case, the super technical Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca. Not many people would think to put a Volt on a track with the likes of Porsches and Lotuses, but that’s exactly what we did. Corkscrews and all.
