Leave it AutoSpies' car of the year, the 2011 Hyundai Elantra, to make one of the biggest waves at the 2011 New York Auto Show. It wasn't because it was receiving an update or new exterior either.

Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this car is simply everywhere. I have done plenty of driving a good amount the past several weeks and one thing is certain; there are tons of all-new Elantras being sold.

But Hyundai went and found some interesting data points. Although the Chevrolet Cruze is said to have sold approximately 50,000 units, it hasn't been too many of the ECO versions -- which is used to advertise the Cruze, thanks to the asterisk.

When comparing sales of the Elantra versus the Fiesta SFE package, Cruze ECO and Smart ForTwo, beats them all -- combined -- by six times. Yeah, six.
