If spy photographers are a credible source, then you better believe your bottom dollar. That's because spies have told publications that the baby Prius, seen in our cover shot, was seen testing with the Honda CR-Z and Mazda2.

A pretty weird combination to say the least, but it makes a lot of sense for two reasons:

1) Toyota is likely looking to build an aggressively priced hybrid

2) Toyota could be benchmarking the new Prius C's performance against the CR-Z

What say you, Spies? Could it be?

Previewed by the Prius C concept from the Detroit show in January this year, the newcomer will be the smallest and most efficient member of the family when it goes on sale in 2012 - it should also be the most affordable...
