With a whopping pricetag, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead is easily one of the most expensive vehicles on the planet. And when you start comparing prices abroad, where taxes and other fees can quickly triple the price of an auto, you're soon looking at over a $1 million bucks.

According to an Australian publication, $1.2 million, to be precise.

That's how much Lance Vater shelled out for his Phantom Drophead, which he purchased just before Christmas. Not too soon thereafter it would make headlines around the globe as a mobile device took video of his Roller caught in a storm with the top DOWN.

Vater says he was strolling the shops not too far away when the surprise storm struck.



While professionals took care of the major cleaning yesterday, Mr Vater tenderly rubbed orange oil into the wood panelling on the rear of his Phantom Drophead Coupe.

It is worth about $1.2 million, after all.
