It doesn't get more exclusive than a Bentley convertible, folks. They're increasingly expensive, typically made in limited batches and feature some of the most sumptious interiors money can buy.
The term I like to use to describe such a product is a "land yacht."
That's because this isn't a product built entirely for driving -- it's a cruiser that's built for pleasure.
As we've reported earlier, Bentley showed a mock up to a select few at this year's Monterey Weekend. Word on the street suggests it will be based upon the Mulsanne sedan; however, it will boast unique attribues, like a lower and more raked windshield.
Autocar is currently reporting that upwards of 250 examples per year can be expected, with most heading to the U.S.
The proposed Bentley Mulsanne convertible will cost more than £275,000 if it gets the production green light that’s expected later this year.
Outgoing boss Wolfgang Dürheimer called it “a pinnacle car” for Bentley, although sources say it’s nearly two years from production, even ?if a quick decision is made.
A mock-up of the cabrio was shown at the recent Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to gauge selected customers’ views on interior and exterior finishes and new materials as part of the on-going development process.
